Learning for the Future
As part of a Design-Build constellation, NZCEL was responsible for the structural design of the Rototuna Senior High School in Hamilton, as part of a team that included Jasmax Auckland, Arrow International Ltd, Aurecon, and many others. For us, it was imperative that the structure be resilient and safe for the students that use it.
The Rototuna High School was an excellent demonstration of the efficiency of a well-managed, collaborative team with design and construction occurring simultaneously. In just over a year, the school was operational. Through the use of a number of innovations and techniques, the team was able to mitigate time and cost overruns, and NZCEL was able to simplify the design to save on material costs and minimise the possibility of error during construction.
