Mark graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelors of Engineering (Hons) in 2011 where he gained a rare insight into the seismic performance of buildings while carrying out inspections of damaged buildings following the Canterbury Earthquakes.
He has since been honing his seismic design skills in Wellington by working on a range of projects including the seismic assessment and retrofit of heritage buildings, and the design of modular apartments and commercial buildings.
Mark enjoys the challenge of finding efficient solutions to complex problems by working closely with a dedicated team. This has given him experience in the use of structural timber members and the application of low-damage design techniques.
Mark is an active volunteer for a number of conservation organisations and enjoys doing woodwork in his spare time.
